Glitched Knits Bulky Sampler Hat

Materials:

-Two colors of Sewrella Classic Bulky or a similar bulky yarn.

-Size 6.5mm 16in circular needles and size 6.5mm DPNs

Part One:

-Cast on 64 stitches in Color A on Circular Needles

-Rows 1-8: *K4,P4* in the round

-Row 9: Purl entire row.

-Row 10: Change to Color B and Purl entire row.

First Pattern Chunk: Chevron Seed Stitch

Four row pattern repeat:

1. *P1,K3,P1,K3
2. *K1,P1,K5,P1
3. *K2,P1,K3,P1,K1
4. *K3,P1,K1,P1,K2

-Repeat Pattern repeat 4x (Rows 11-26)

-Rows 27-28: Purl entire Row

To decrease slouchiness of the hat, skip Row 9 and repeat the Chevron pattern only 3 times

Part Two: Diamond Brocade

-For this section, the Diamond Brocade has an eight row repeat.

1. *K4,P1,K3
2. *K3,P1,K1,P1,K2
3. *K2,P1,K3,P1,K1
4. *K1,P1,K5,P1
5. *P1,K7
6. *K1,P1,K5,P1
7. *K2,P1,K3,P1,K1
8. *K3,P1,K1,P1,K2

-Rows 29-45: Repeat Diamond Brocade repeat 2 times, plus an extra row 1 of the repeat.

-Rows 46-47: Purl entire row.

To decrease the slouchiness of the hat, repeat the Diamond pattern only once (+ an extra row 1 of the repeat) and skip row 47.

Part Three: Decreasing Rib

-Row 48: *Knit 3, Purl 5

-Row 49: *K3, P3, P2Tog

-Row 50: *K3, P4

-Row 51: *K3, P2, P2Tog

-Row 52: *K3, P3

-Row 53: *K1, K2Tog, P3

-Row 54: Switching to DPNs, *K2, P3

-Row 55: *K2, P1, P2Tog

-Row 56: *K2, P2

-Bind off. Use a yarn needle to tighten/close the top of the hat and sew in your ends.
